We're in Washington!!!

We made it to Washington after 3 days of driving. We've been staying in Kanaskat-Palmer State Park for the weekend with Nicole, Ed and Winter. It's lots of fun!! It's really great to see them and to play with Winter after not seeing them for over a year. The kids like visiting with their cousin. Above: Winter is peaking out from between her mom's legs.
We went for a "hike" in Mt Rainier National Park on the road that was partly washed out about a year ago (?). We didn't see any of the major wash-outs, cuz we're not big hikers and it was a long walk. It was a beautiful site to see all the trees in the rain forest covered with moss and to see all the really BIG trees. We stopped for a little snack before making our way back out of the park. Pictured: Ed, Nicole, Jacob, Winter, Becca, Kaylee and Pat. (Mom's being Family Historian on the trip!).
Here's a picture of Mt Rainier from a nearby town. I really, really, really like to see the mountains all around. Driving through/over them is another story though.
Jacob jumping up after trying to sit down in the Green River at Kanaskat-Palmer State Park. It was COLD!!!! The river is fed from glacier run-off. We all got our toes wet, but Jacob, Becca and Winter dared to get the most wet (Becca sat down too and got her hair wet with her hands, and Winter was splashing water around with her hands).

Off to another park tomorrow!
